    MTSS and Tier 1 Problem Solving- A 2-Part Series

    Description: This professional development series builds knowledge and supports the application of the Problem-Solving Model from a system- level perspective. Each session will include knowledge and skill building coupled with breakout opportunities throughout the day to explore MTSS more deeply through a PBIS or Literacy lens.

    *Participants should plan to attend both sessions: October 22 and December 10. In addition, it is highly encouraged (not required) participants attend the half-day session on September 19*

    Objectives:

    • Experience and use the Problem-Solving Model as they are guided to use real data sources within an MTSS model to: Identify Problems, Analyze Problems, Plan for and Implement Instruction & Interventions, and Evaluate Progress.
    • Practice data-based decision making at the system-level.
    • Share and receive knowledge and experience from local schools and districts.
    • Access ongoing support to lead MTSS in schools and districts.
    • Reflect on what participants do and do not have in place to allow planning for next steps for MTSS in their district or building.

    Recommended Audience: A team of 3+ members comprised of roles like the following:

    MTSS Team, Curriculum & Instruction Director, Student Services Administrators, PBIS leads, Building Administrators/Leads, Invention Specialists, General Education Teachers, Reading Specialists, School Psychologists, Coaches, Management Companies, School Sponsors
