March 1, 2024Description: This professional development series builds knowledge of (1) the Science of Reading to understand how reading develops and (2) a Structured Literacy approach to reading instruction to best support all students.

Objectives:
- Build background knowledge of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy
- Explore specific classroom practices to select and support implementation of, as well as red flags for practices to deselect
- Learn about and examine their own systems to support Structured Literacy instruction
- Share and receive knowledge and experiences from local schools and districts
- Access ongoing coaching support to lead Structured Literacy instruction in your schools and district
Recommended Audience: Educators in leadership roles such as curriculum directors, special education directors, building administrators, coaches, and teacher leaders. The content is focused on knowledge-building to improve systems at the district and school level that support Structured Literacy instruction. Therefore, it is highly encouraged that the team attending includes individuals who have decision-making capacity within the school or district.

March 7, 2024Description: This professional development series builds knowledge and supports application in leadership of:
- Multi-Tiered System of Support and
- The Problem-Solving Model from a system-level and student-level perspective.
Please plan to attend all three sessions: 10/17/2023, 12/13/2023, and 3/7/2024.
Objectives:
- Build background knowledge of MTSS and the Problem-Solving Model to apply in their school and district leadership
- Experience and use the Problem-Solving Model as they are guided to use real data sources within an MTSS model to: Identify Problems, Analyze Problems, Plan for and Implement Instruction & Interventions, and Evaluate Progress
- Practice data-based decision making at both the system-level and student-level
- Share and receive knowledge and experiences from local schools and districts
- Access ongoing support to lead MTSS in schools and districts
Recommended Audience:
A team of 3+ members comprised of roles similar to the following: - MTSS Team C&I Director
- DSS Director
- PBIS lead
- Principals
- Intervention Specialists

- School Psychologists

- Review Self Review Summary Report (SRSR) timelines, due dates, and required actions.
- Review Improvement Plan (IP) timelines, due dates, and required actions.
- Identify essential components of child find and timely evaluations.
- Discuss strategies necessary to ensure districts/community schools meet their Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) obligations.
Recommended Audience: District and building level administrators, school sponsors, special education directors and/or supervisors, general educators/department heads, related service providers (school psychologist, speech language pathologists, others as applicable), etc.
