May 17, 2019Adolescent Literacy for School Leaders is a three-part workshop designed for school leaders who want to develop a school wide literacy program at the secondary level. This workshop will look at the obstacles to teaching literacy at the secondary level, and discuss ways to have a building wide focus on literacy across academic disciplines and grade levels.

The K-12 Literacy Context
Ohio's Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement
The Foundations of Adolescent Literacy
Conducting a Literacy Audit
Scheduling Time for Literacy Instruction
Selecting Professional Development for Staff
Designing Tier III Reading SupportsThe workshop will help school leaders consider how to construct and how to monitor school wide reading programs. The workshop will also place adolescent literacy into a context of k-12 literacy and Ohio's plan to raise literacy achievement.
