April 5, 2024Description: This professional development series builds knowledge of (1) the Science of Reading to understand how reading develops and (2) a Structured Literacy approach to reading instruction to best support all students.

Objectives:
- Build background knowledge of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy
- Explore specific classroom practices to select and support implementation of, as well as red flags for practices to deselect
- Learn about and examine their own systems to support Structured Literacy instruction
- Share and receive knowledge and experiences from local schools and districts
- Access ongoing coaching support to lead Structured Literacy instruction in your schools and district
Recommended Audience: Educators in leadership roles such as curriculum directors, special education directors, building administrators, coaches, and teacher leaders. The content is focused on knowledge-building to improve systems at the district and school level that support Structured Literacy instruction. Therefore, it is highly encouraged that the team attending includes individuals who have decision-making capacity within the school or district.
