PBIS Recognition Process

Ohio’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Recognition System provides an opportunity to celebrate schools and districts dedication and hard work towards their quality and fidelity of implementing PBIS. Each year, the Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) and the Ohio PBIS Network recognize schools and districts for their quality and fidelity of PBIS implementation. Schools and districts are eligible to receive awards at the bronze, silver, gold, or district levels of distinction.

Starting 2024-2025, the application process will be simpler and more streamlined. Applications will also be sent directly to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce with support from State Support Teams.

PBIS Recognition Timeline

March 3, 2025: Schools can access Ohio Recognition Manual on webpage with instructions and application questions to prepare.
April 1, 2025 – April 30, 2025: PBIS Recognition Award Application Survey available on webpage.
April 1, 2025-April 30, 2025: To apply, schools and districts will complete and submit the survey (via a Survey Monkey link) directly to the Department for review and scoring.
March 3, 2025 – April 30, 2025: SST/ESC Consultants can provide support to buildings and districts to complete their application.
