    Science of Reading and Structured Literacy for Administrators Part I

    Description: This professional development series builds knowledge of (1) the Science of Reading to understand how reading develops and (2) a Structured Literacy approach to reading instruction to best support all students. ​

    Category: Literacy

    Objectives:

    • Build background knowledge of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy​
    • Explore specific classroom practices to select and support implementation of, as well as red flags for practices to deselect
    • Learn about and examine their own systems to support Structured Literacy instruction
    • Share and receive knowledge and experiences from local schools and districts​
    • Access ongoing coaching support to lead Structured Literacy instruction in your schools and district

    Recommended Audience: Educators in leadership roles such as curriculum directors, special education directors, building administrators, coaches, and teacher leaders. The content is focused on knowledge-building to improve systems at the district and school level that support Structured Literacy instruction. Therefore, it is highly encouraged that the team attending includes individuals who have decision-making capacity within the school or district.

    Objectives: Attendees will learn about best instructional practices in support of early literacy achievement.

    Recommended Audience: The recommended audience for these sessions is educators who are serving children from birth through age 5.

    Recommended Audience: The recommended audience for these sessions is district and school leadership, instructional coaches, literacy specialists, intervention specialists, and other personnel who support literacy achievement

We will specifically be discussing student who take the AASCD and alternate demonstrations of competency. Join us and ask your questions!

    Attendees will be able to ask the presenter questions about the topic.

    Implementing Effective PBIS Classroom Systems 02/09/2024 & 03/05/2024

    Description: This training will provide a more detailed look at classroom practices. PBIS coaches, administrators, team members, and other classroom practice leaders engage in the professional learning necessary to install and coach the identified classroom practices/components in a systemic, efficient, and effective way.

    Attendees must attend both sessions 02/09/2024 & 03/05/2024

    Objectives:

    • Create a system for supporting teachers through coaching the classroom component module
    • Identify the practices within the classroom components
    • Be prepared to collect data specific to the module
    • Identify and provide technical assistance to teachers in need of more support
    • Train the components to school/district staff

    Recommended Audience: PBIS coaches, administrators, PBIS Tier 1 team members, teacher, and other classroom practice leaders NEW to education/teaching.
