Ohio’s state support system includes 16 regional State Support Teams who use tools and knowledge to improve instructional practice and student outcomes by working with districts and buildings on improving systems they have in place. Our staff consists of Ohio educators who bring knowledge and experience to their work in systems change, special education, early learning and parent/family engagement. SST services are provided at no cost.

Joanna Sears has 22 years of experience as a classroom teacher, literacy coordinator, and principal. In her 16 years as a building level administrator, she has worked in both urban and suburban settings at the elementary and middle school level. She has led multiple buildings in the implementation of PBIS and provided professional development is areas such as Assessment Literacy and Data Analysis. Joanna’s facilitation of shared leadership structures helped her building earn 3 statewide awards for high student progress. Joanna joined state support team in 2017 to improve outcomes for all students.
