SST 13 Regional Literacy Team is facilitating three network meetings for literacy leaders to come together to learn and discuss topics related to adolescent literacy. Each network meeting will be followed by optional coaching office hours for individualized support. A link to the virtual meeting will be emailed to each registered participant prior to the meeting. Participants will receive a certificate of participation after each network session with the corresponding contact hours (2 hours per meeting).
Objectives:
· Build knowledge in best practices of language and literacy
Share with and learn from other schools and districts in SW Ohio
Discuss and collaborate on essential questions to improve literacy instruction
Network with other literacy leaders across the region
Receive ongoing individual support to lead literacy instruction
Audience: Intermediate, middle, and high school educators in leadership roles such as curriculum directors, special education directors, building administrators, coaches, and teacher leaders. The content is focused on improving literacy systems at the district and school level, therefore, it is highly encouraged that a team attends with individuals who have decision making capacity within the school or district.

All individuals participating must have viewed all four of the on-line modules for Alternate Assessment training and received their certificate, the link is Ohio's State Tests (cambiumast.com). We will be applying our knowledge to case studies using The Decision Making Tool. Participants should also review the New Decision Tool before the session.
SST 13 will continue to be the trusted partner of local education agencies, supporting systems change to improve learning for all students.

State Support Teams
The 16 State Support Teams are responsible for the regional delivery of school improvement, special education, early learning and school readiness, and parent and family involvement services to districts using a differentiated technical assistance structure of support based upon need. Sixteen educational service centers (ESC’s) were selected through an RFP process to act as Fiscal Agents.
The teams work through the Office for Exceptional Children, Office of Early Learning and School Readiness, and the Office of Improvement and Innovation by providing technical assistance and professional development.

Ohio’s state support system includes 16 regional State Support Teams who use tools and knowledge to improve instructional practice and student outcomes by working with districts and buildings on improving systems they have in place. Our staff consists of Ohio educators who bring knowledge and experience to their work in systems change, special education, early learning and parent/family engagement. SST services are provided at no cost.
